We call it the Grand Concerto because all the parts come together in perfect harmony...the plug, the locking collar nut and the endpin rod. This combination delivers the maximum impact to enhance cello and bass acoustical output by increasing amplitude, volume, tonal quality or "core", responsiveness and clarity, as well as resonance from ppp to FFF.
Replacing the plug in any instrument should be done by a professional luthier.

There are three optional collar nuts which can be used with the Grand Concerto assembly.
Shown (left to right) are the Solid Brass Model, A collar with 12 drilled holes to reduce mass, and a hybrid version with four of the 12 holes filled with a proprietary material.
